Ardoin, Teammates Big Winners In Star Mazda Race At Tres-Rivieres
TROIS-RIVIERES, Quebec (Aug. 16, 2010) – You have to give credit to Team GDT owner J.W. Roberts. He can really pick his drivers.
Roberts’ team competes in the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear and his team won everything there was to win during the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear portion of the GP3R weekend on the street course here.
Alex Ardoin, who has not raced in a series event since last season, won the race in a Team GDT car. Roberts won the Expert class for drives aged 30-44 and Carlos Conde, driving yet another Team GDT entry, won the Masters Class for drivers aged 45 and above.
Goodyear is the official tire supplier for the Star Mazda Championship and is the presenting sponsor of the national championship series. Goodyear also supplies tires for Star Mazda’s regional touring programs. The Goodyear Eagle radials match with the technology-driven, single seat, open wheel cars to give drivers a platform for honing their skills while also controlling costs.
Jorge Goncalvez finished second to Ardoin in the overall scoring. Conor Daly, the championship points leader, was next. Anders Krohn was fourth and David Ostella came home fifth.
Daly leads the title chase with 409 points. Krohn is next with 351 and Caio Lara is third with 320.
