WOLFE WINS OUTLAWS RACE AT BLOOMINGTON

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Aug. 6, 2012) – Lucas Wolfe nabbed his first World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory when he beat the field at Bloomington Speedway.

Wolfe, who has raced regularly with the Outlaws for five seasons, led the final 21 laps of the 40-lap chase.

Wolfe and the rest of the Outlaws now turn their attention to the Goodyear Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway, the most prestigious event in winged sprint car racing. The four-night event begins Wednesday.

In addition to its function as the title sponsor for the Knoxville event, Goodyear is the Official Tire company of the WoO Sprint Car Series, along with other touring programs across the sprint car racing world. The same line of tires Goodyear supplies to the Outlaws are offered to the other series and to weekly racing programs at many tracks. That means that when drivers converge on Knoxville next week, every one of them has had the opportunity to gain experience with the tires that will be used in the marquee event.

Following Wolfe across the finish line at Bloomington was Joey Saldana. Donny Schatz, who clocked the quickest time during qualifying, finished third. Jason Sides was fourth and Cody Darrah took fifth.

Craig Dollansky leads the WoO championship standings with 6,338. Steve Kinser is next with 6,321.
